AntennaWare is a deep-tech antenna company revolutionising wireless communications for Industrial IoT, audio, healthcare, and sports applications. Spun out from Queen’s University Belfast and built on over 20 years of world-leading research in wearable antenna design and body-centric EM propagation, AntennaWare is co-founded by Dr Gareth Conway, and Dr Matthew Magill.
Made for the most challenging RF applications, AntennaWare’s patented antenna technology delivers reliable, repeatable performance, particularly in challenging Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) conditions, regardless of where or on whom devices are placed.
All products are developed and validated using state-of-the-art test facilities including anechoic and reverberation chambers and human-equivalent testbeds.

Main Business
AntennaWare solves wireless connectivity problems for on-body and on-metal applications, the two most challenging RF environments in IoT. Conventional antenna solutions fail in these environments because they are designed for free-space conditions, not for the signal-hostile realities of devices worn on the body or mounted on metal surfaces.
AntennaWare’s patented technologies address these challenges directly, delivering increased radiation efficiency, improved detuning immunity, and typically 6-12dB link budget improvement in Non-Line-of-Sight conditions. The result for device manufacturers and systems integrators is reliable, accurate, real-time wireless connectivity, and products that perform as reliably in the real world as they do in the lab.
The company works with OEM partners and device manufacturers across audio, sports, industrial IoT, and connected healthcare, offering both standard antenna products and a design-in consultancy service for application-specific integration.

BodyWave™ antennas are specifically designed for on-body and body-worn wireless devices, and the only commercial antennas specifically designed for wearable application. Unlike conventional antennas which lose signal to body-blocking and multipath degradation, BodyWave™ uses the body’s surface as a propagation medium to deliver consistently superior performance, particularly in the challenging NLoS conditions. By addressing the underlying causes of body-blocking and detuning, BodyWave™ achieves increased radiation efficiency and impedance stability regardless of where or on whom a device is placed — delivering a step-change in wireless connectivity performance of typically over 10dB Non-Line-of-Sight. Available across multiple frequency bands including Sub-GHz (868–915MHz ISM), 1.9GHz DECT, 2.4GHz (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), and UWB at 6.5GHz and 8GHz.
