On the morning of August 28, the Hisense A10 5G E Ink Smartphone Launch Event was held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an), marking the finale of the event series. Held both online and offline, the launch brought together representatives from key industry partners, including E Ink, Qualcomm, JD.com, and the Electronic Paper Industry Alliance, who joined Hisense in witnessing the global debut of the Hisense TouchSense A10, the world’s first modular 5G smartphone featuring E Ink display technology.
At the event, Hung Chi-Mao, General Manager of E Ink Industrial Technology (E Ink), delivered opening remarks. He spoke highly of Hisense’s 26 years of technological expertise and its decade-long commitment to E Ink devices. Hung noted that E Ink will continue to support innovation in smart devices through its next-generation electronic paper technologies, while strengthening collaboration with Hisense and other industry partners to further expand the global electronic paper ecosystem and bring more innovative products to consumers worldwide.

The product concept was then presented in detail by Zhong Minglin, Chairman and General Manager of Qingdao Hisense Mobile Communications Technology Co., Ltd.
The Hisense TouchSense A10 features a 6.13-inch, 300 PPI E Ink Carta 1300 display and a dual-chip architecture designed to support different display and interaction scenarios. Its proprietary Pogo Pin magnetic modular interface enables direct connection to a color secondary display, creating a unique “Two Modes, One Device” experience that combines eye-friendly reading with rich multimedia interaction.
The A10 also features an open ecosystem built around publicly available interface protocols and an SDK, allowing developers and partners to explore new applications and experiences. The smartphone is available through Hisense’s official channels and JD.com.

Industry Leaders Discuss the Future of Electronic Paper
A dedicated roundtable discussion was also held during the launch event, moderated by Zuo Qiang, Secretary-General of the Electronic Paper Industry Alliance.
The panel brought together senior representatives from across the electronic paper and smart-device ecosystem, including Zhu Lin, General Manager of E Ink China; Li Yonghua, R&D General Manager of Qualcomm China’s Smart Home Business; Zhao Kuo, General Manager of JD.com’s Electronics & Education Business; and Xiu Ping, General Manager of Hisense Mobile Communications’ R&D Department.
The panelists shared their perspectives on the innovation, technological evolution, and ecosystem development of electronic paper devices in 2026, exploring how advances in display technology, mobile computing, and cross-industry collaboration can unlock new consumer scenarios and accelerate the adoption of electronic paper terminals.
From receiving the “Innovation” award at the main forum to officially unveiling the A10, Hisense demonstrated its continued commitment to technological innovation and product development, bringing new momentum to the consumer electronic paper device market.
