A new ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless gaming mouse has reportedly surfaced online. This development adds fresh momentum to the growing interest in next-generation low-latency gaming peripherals.
A Reddit user known as “nerkothegoat” recently shared photos of a mysterious gaming mouse package purchased “at a discount online.” The user asked the community to help identify the device. Based on the packaging details and product imagery, the mouse is widely believed to be the unreleased SteelSeries Rival Pro Mini.
The leaked retail box suggests the device uses UWB wireless technology instead of the conventional 2.4GHz wireless connection commonly found in gaming mice today. Moreover, the packaging also highlights support for an 8,000Hz polling rate. This positions the product squarely in the high-performance esports segment.
UWB Technology Gains Attention in Wireless Gaming Peripherals
The appearance of another UWB gaming mouse is drawing attention across the enthusiast community. As wireless peripherals continue to proliferate, the crowded 2.4GHz spectrum has become increasingly susceptible to interference. As a result, this can lead to unstable connections and inconsistent performance.

Some technical specifications, including battery capacity details, appear unfinished and still contain placeholder text. In addition, the packaging includes a “non-final render” disclaimer. This suggests the images may originate from an early retail or distribution-stage leak rather than a finalized commercial product.
Familiar Design Sparks Product Line Speculation
Despite the unfinished nature of the packaging, the overall shape and silhouette closely resemble the SteelSeries Prime Wireless Pro series introduced in 2021.
