Industry trend|Oracle, with a market value of $3 trillion, sees the opportunity of RFID in healthcare

2024-09-13

Oracle Corporation, full name Oracle Corporation, is a multinational technology company headquartered in Redwood Beach, California, United States, founded in 1977.

As the world's leading provider of database software and technology, Oracle holds an important position in the enterprise software market, and its products and services are widely used in various industries around the world. According to the latest data, the company's total revenue increased 8% to $13.3 billion, and cloud product revenue increased 21% to $5.6 billion. At present, Oracle's market capitalization has reached $429.61 billion (about 3 trillion yuan), and the price-earnings ratio is 40.17, which is relatively high, indicating that investors have high expectations for the company's future earnings.

Recently, the three-trillion-market giant announced a partnership with RFID industry giants to integrate RFID technology into Oracle converged cloud inventory management.

RFID technology: Intelligent upgrade of medical inventory management

On September 11, 2024, at Oracle CloudWorld, Oracle announced a new RFID replenishment feature in its Oracle Converged Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing (SCM) suite.

This feature is designed to optimize inventory management for healthcare providers by integrating RFID technology into Oracle Converged cloud inventory management through partnerships with companies such as AveryDennison, Terso Solutions and ZebraTechnologies.

RFID (Radio frequency Identification) technology uses wireless signals to identify specific targets and read and write relevant data, and can automatically complete tasks such as inventory counting and item tracking without human intervention. In the medical sector, the use of RFID technology can greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management. Chris Leone, executive vice president of application development at Oracle, pointed out that RFID technology will effectively prevent the delays and shortages that can be caused by manual inventory management, improve productivity, provide real-time inventory visibility, and improve inventory management, and minimize human error.

Optimize inventory management to improve patient care experience

Oracle's RFID replenishment solution automatically tracks the inventory status of medical supplies, updates inventory balances in real time, and automatically triggers the replenishment process when inventory falls below safety thresholds.

This feature not only simplifies the operational process of inventory management and reduces the manual workload of healthcare personnel, but also ensures that medical supplies are available whenever and wherever they are needed, thus improving the timeliness and effectiveness of patient care.

In addition, RFID technology supports the refined management of a variety of medical supplies, including high-value non-implantable items, temperature-sensitive goods, and low-value supplies that are regularly and automatically replenished. This fine management helps medical institutions better grasp the inventory situation, avoid unnecessary waste and shortage, and further improve the quality and efficiency of medical services.

As a leading global technology company, Oracle is committed to advancing the industry through technological innovation and providing efficient and intelligent solutions for various industries.

Oracle's innovative application of RFID replenishment in medical inventory management has improved the efficiency of healthcare organizations and the patient care experience. In the future, with the continuous progress of technology and the continuous deepening of applications, Oracle will continue to lead the industry and bring intelligent solutions to more fields.
