Industry trend|How RFID makes Canadian athletes feel at home at the Paris Olympics

2024-08-01

The Paris Olympics has officially opened, and the Canadian Olympic Committee has provided its athletes, coaches, families, media and fans with a new, high-tech way to participate - through RFID wristband technology provided by Connect&GO, which enables seamless access, payment and VIP services. This innovative move not only improves operational efficiency, but also allows Canadian athletes to feel at home at the Paris Olympics.

During the Paris Olympics, up to 20,000 participants will wear customized RFID wristbands from Connect&GO. These wristbands not only have access control functions, but also support contactless purchases of goods such as food and beverages. Whether entering the Canadian Olympic Building (COH) to watch the game or enjoying various activities and performances in the venue, participants only need to tap their wristbands to complete identity authentication and payment, which greatly simplifies the process and improves efficiency.

Located in the picturesque Villette Science and Industry City in Paris, the Canada Olympic House provides a warm "home away from home" for Team Canada athletes, their families and fans. COH not only provides an excellent location to watch national games and athletes, but also carefully curates food and beverage services and live performances, so that every participant can feel the warmth of home and the passion of the Olympics.

RFID technology brings many advantages to COH. First, it enables personalized ticketing and access control management, ensuring that each participant can obtain the corresponding access level according to their ticket or voucher. Second, contactless payment methods reduce the inconvenience and security risks of cash transactions, and improve the convenience and security of transactions. In addition, RFID technology also has powerful event management capabilities, which can set alerts based on minimum and maximum attendance numbers, helping management to adjust strategies in real time and optimize resource allocation.

Connect&GO's RFID system is highly dynamic and flexible. It can assign different permissions and benefits to participants based on their roles and needs. For example, national athletes, their families and coaches can enjoy specific offers and benefits, such as a certain amount of free food or merchandise. At the same time, the system can also record the behavioral data of participants and provide valuable reference information for management to better optimize service quality and improve participant satisfaction.

After the Olympics, participants can take their RFID wristbands home as souvenirs. This is not just a simple item, but also a testimony and memory of their participation in this historic event. Athlete Palermo said: "I think this is also part of the experience: a memory worth cherishing."

Connect&GO's RFID wristbands provide Canadian participants during the Paris Olympics with a convenient, safe and seamless experience, from personalized ticketing, access control to cashless payment, all of which are highly automated and intelligent. The application of RFID technology not only improves the operational efficiency of the Olympics, but also brings a richer experience to participants.
