Recently, AIOT Starmap Research Institute & Shenzhen Ulink media Co.,Ltd. visited Xiamen Innov Information Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xiamen Innov Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (430525), a company listed on the New Third Board, and invited the company to participate in the research of the "2024 China RFID Passive Internet of Things Industry White Paper".
In the interview, Mr. Lin of Innov said that there are currently three main business routes in the RFID physical manufacturing industry:
The first: Go to the scale market. This type of market is characterized by large volume and high degree of standardization. The typical scenario is footwear and clothing retail, and RFID tag factories belong to the auxiliary materials and consumables of the footwear and clothing retail industry. For such a market, if companies want to expand their performance scale, they need to find a large-scale single customer. At the same time, if they want to maintain a continuous competitive advantage, they must continue to expand production capacity to form a capacity effect and achieve the ultimate cost-effectiveness.
The second: Go to the differentiated market. That is, the market that is different from other players in the market. The volume of this type of market is relatively small and the degree of customization is high. To maintain a competitive advantage in such a market, it is necessary to have a more complete industrial chain support, stronger innovation and rapid iteration capabilities than competitors, because such a niche market itself is not large. If there is a first-mover advantage, there will be a wave of dividends, and once more players enter, the price will also be very bad.
The third: Go to the focused market segment. This type of market must have a higher entry threshold, such as qualification requirements or technical requirements, and must understand scene applications better than subdivided industries, restricting a small number of players to enter. Once they enter, their income and profits will be relatively stable, such as the power industry, medical industry, and national military standard projects.
As the saying goes, "All roads lead to Rome, and every road has very successful companies, because they are rooted in the different growth genes of each company." Innov is named after "innovation". From the beginning of its establishment, it has taken "innovation" as the cultural gene of the company. Through continuous innovation and differentiated markets, the company has now become a benchmark company for differentiated "special labels" and a national-level specialized "little giant" enterprise.
The entry threshold for "special labels" is getting lower and lower, so the company must always maintain continuous innovation in the market competition. How to tap the innovative market? Mr. Lin believes that in addition to having a complete industrial chain support, it is necessary to start from the perspective of what value RFID products can create for customers, and to conduct in-depth scene research. Only by helping customers create more value will customers be more willing to cooperate with the company.
Based on the user value thinking of "identity as a service, making applications simpler", Innov has mainly created three product lines based on its own corporate advantages and resources.
The first category is RFID trusted tags, that is, various RFID tags with anti-disassembly and anti-transfer processes, including high-frequency, ultra-high-frequency and Bluetooth active tags. Because RFID chips have a globally unique ID, but in many regulatory fields, in order to make the tags play a better value, it is necessary to ensure the uniqueness of RFID tags. If the tags can be easily transferred and reused, the trust value of the tags will be lost, and the significance of supervision will be lost. Anti-transfer tags meet such market needs.
The second category is "RFID+" products, mainly RFID+temperature sensor tags, RFID+detection or RFID+LED light-emitting search. RFID+temperature sensor can solve the pain point of not being able to use battery-powered temperature measurement in high-temperature environments; while RFID+LED solves the pain point of "multiple products quickly finding the target object at close range".
The third category is industrial durable tags, which mainly use high-reliability packaging technology and materials to achieve applications in special and complex environments, such as tags packaged with FPCB boards, SMT and hard shells. These tags have high reliability and durability, and are suitable for complex environmental scenarios such as industry and electricity.
The 2024 RFID Passive Internet of Things White Paper and Ecosystem Series Report is currently under intensive research. This report will conduct in-depth research on market segments such as supermarket retail, express logistics, airline luggage, books and archives, industry, medical care, and electric vehicles.
