As a new type of short-range wireless communication technology native to China, NearLink technology combines the advantages of existing mainstream short-range communication technologies such as Bluetooth and WiFi, and has six major technical characteristics: low latency, precise positioning, high throughput, anti-interference, high concurrency and high reliability.
Since its release in 2021, NearLink technology has gone through the development from the basic communication architecture of the 1.0 standard to the more complete communication base and rich application standards of the 2.0 standard in just 4 years. Since the "first year of commercial use" last year, NearLink technology has blossomed in various fields.
Behind this rapid development is the accumulation of more than 30 years of development in my country's communications industry. With the joint efforts of more than 1,000 NearLink member units, more than 40 NearLink standards and test systems have been established.
The NearLink Alliance expects to promote the release of the 3.0 standard in early 2025. It will continue to optimize and improve communication performance on the basis of the NearLink 2.0 standard, promote the establishment of the NearLink standard in the access layer capabilities such as positioning, perception, and IoT, and further expand the application scope of NearLink technology to achieve full-scenario IoT.
01 NearLink is being implemented
By the end of 2024, NearLink technology will be applied to more than 100 categories, involving application scenarios such as smart terminals, smart homes, smart cars, and smart manufacturing. In particular, its application in consumer electronics is extremely prominent. Its low-latency technical characteristics allow it to provide 30 times more interactive information in the same time, moving from milliseconds to microseconds.
The refresh rate of wireless mice has been increased from the traditional 25-1000Hz to 4000Hz, which has greatly improved the user experience. Recently, many companies have launched wireless mouse products equipped with NearLink technology.
