Industry trend|In order to realize intelligent management of guns, this domestic department announced the introduction of RFID

2025-02-18

Recently, the Fujian Provincial Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center commissioned Fujian Zhongzhao Project Management Co., Ltd. to launch an open bidding activity for the Smart Gun Cabinet System (Secondary) Project (Project No. [350001]ZZXM[GK]2024009-1), aiming to further improve the safety management level and training efficiency of the Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center.

It is reported that the budget of the project is 600,000 yuan, including multiple procurement packages such as smart gun cabinets, smart control cabinets, firewalls, smart bullet cabinets, smart cabinet management systems, ammunition management systems, AI face recognition machines, switches, information display screens, database servers, and workstations to meet the needs of the Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center for intelligent and safe gun and bullet management.

The bidding documents list in detail the quantity, brief technical requirements or service requirements of each procurement target. For example, the smart gun cabinet must meet physical requirements such as size, weight, and material, and have multiple opening methods such as electric and key. It can be used as a mechanical safe alone, or combined with a control cabinet to form a cabinet group to achieve unified authority management and control. The intelligent control cabinet needs to have a built-in professional touch-screen integrated machine, support multiple authentication methods, and have functions such as remote network configuration management and gun RFID tag management.

Difficulties of traditional gun management methods in shooting centers

The difficulties of gun management in shooting centers are mainly reflected in the strict management of gun and ammunition depots, the complexity of personnel management, the safety management of competition training grounds, the supervision of gun transportation and carrying, and the compliance and implementation of laws and regulations. In order to overcome these difficulties, shooting centers need to continuously strengthen their management capabilities and levels to ensure the safe use and management of guns. Specifically, the difficulties of gun management in shooting centers are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Strict management of gun and ammunition depots

Shooting centers need to establish special gun and ammunition depots and ensure that guns and ammunition are kept in separate depots, which is the basis of gun management. However, in actual operations, there are many challenges in the management of gun and ammunition depots. For example, a strict entry and exit registration system needs to be formulated and implemented to ensure that each entry and exit of guns is clearly recorded. At the same time, security measures for gun and ammunition depots must also be in place, including installing anti-theft alarm devices and arranging 24-hour duty to prevent gun theft or other safety accidents. The implementation of these measures requires a lot of manpower and material resources, which increases the difficulty of management.

2. Complexity of personnel management

Personnel management in shooting centers is also an important part of gun management. First, politically reliable personnel need to be designated to be responsible for the safekeeping of guns and ammunition. These personnel must undergo strict screening and training. Secondly, shooting coaches, athletes and other personnel who directly contact guns also need safety education and training to ensure that they understand and comply with relevant regulations on the use of guns. However, in actual operations, the mobility and uncertainty of personnel pose great challenges to management. For example, coaches and athletes may leave the shooting center for various reasons, which requires timely updating and management of their information to ensure the safe use of guns.

3. Safety management of competition and training grounds

Shooting competitions and training grounds are the main places for the use of guns and the focus of safety management. During competitions and training, it is necessary to ensure that the use of guns complies with regulations to prevent accidents.

4. Supervision of the transportation and carrying of guns

When holding competitions or training activities, shooting centers may need to transport guns from the gun and ammunition depot to the competition or training venue. In this process, it is necessary to ensure that the removal, transportation, and storage of guns comply with relevant regulations to prevent accidents during transportation.

Benefits of RFID management of guns in shooting centers

The use of RFID technology for gun management in shooting centers can significantly improve management efficiency, enhance safety, achieve accurate tracking and positioning, optimize resource allocation and decision support, and improve the level of management informationization. These benefits jointly promote the standardization, efficiency and intelligent development of gun management in shooting centers. Specifically, the benefits of using RFID technology for gun management in shooting centers can be divided into the following aspects:

1. Improve management efficiency

Automated management: RFID technology automatically identifies targets (RFID tags) and collects data through non-contact radio frequency signals, without manual intervention, and is quick and convenient to operate. This enables the daily management of guns, such as storage, warehousing, transportation, use, carrying, and recycling, to be automated and significantly improve management efficiency.

Real-time data update: The RFID system can update the inventory information and usage status of guns in real time, so that managers can keep abreast of the latest situation of guns and provide support for decision-making.

2. Enhanced security

Illegal movement alarm: When a gun is illegally taken out or other abnormal situations occur, the RFID system will automatically trigger the alarm function and notify managers in time to handle it. This helps prevent guns from being stolen or misused and reduce the risk of safety accidents.

Permission control: RFID technology can be integrated with access control systems to ensure that only authorized personnel can access guns. Through RFID cards or other authentication methods, access rights to guns can be strictly controlled to prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing guns.

3. Achieve accurate tracking and positioning

RFID tags are unique, and each gun can be equipped with a unique RFID tag. This allows guns to be accurately identified and tracked, and specific guns can be quickly located no matter which link has problems.

4. Optimize resource allocation and decision support

The data collected through RFID technology can be analyzed by big data to predict gun usage trends and management needs. This helps the management department to formulate countermeasures and plans in advance and improve emergency response capabilities.

5. Improve the level of management informationization

System integration and remote monitoring: RFID gun management system can be combined with computer network and database technology to realize the informatization and networking of gun management. Managers can remotely monitor the status and location information of guns through the network to improve management efficiency.

Digital platform: RFID technology provides a digital platform for the shooting center to automatically identify and intelligently manage the issuance, entry and exit of guns, and use and maintenance of guns. This helps the shooting center to realize the modernization and intelligence of gun management.
