In today's era of rapid digital development, technology products are constantly penetrating into every aspect of our lives, bringing convenience and safety to our lives. Recently, a Florida technology startup called Sharewear launched an innovative bracelet product based on NFC (near field communication) technology, aiming to provide vulnerable people with a more convenient and secure way to manage health information and obtain emergency contact information.

Amanda Anderson, founder and CEO of Sharewear, said that the inspiration for this product came from her concern about the protection of health information of family members. Anderson's father-in-law suffers from multiple diseases, and the family is worried that in an emergency, medical staff will not be able to quickly obtain all his health information. This problem prompted Anderson to start thinking about how to use technology to solve the dilemma of health information management for such vulnerable people.

After in-depth research, Anderson found that although existing medical emergency bracelets can print or etch some basic information, for people with a lot of health information, this information is often not fully displayed on the bracelet. In addition, the printed code is also at risk of being rubbed or peeled off. Therefore, she decided to use NFC technology to create a new bracelet product.

Sharewear's NFC bracelet has a built-in 13.56 MHz NFC chip encoded with a unique ID. Users can connect the bracelet to their digital profile through their smartphone and Sharewear software. This profile contains health details, allergy information, special needs, and emergency contact phone numbers that users want to be known in an emergency. Once a bystander notices that the person wearing the bracelet is in need, they can simply tap the NFC symbol on the bracelet with their phone to automatically jump to the URL page to view relevant information.

In addition to basic health information management functions, Sharewear's NFC bracelet also provides optional subscription services. By spending $4.99 per month, users can enjoy more services. For example, when someone taps the bracelet with a smartphone, the software collects data and sends an alert about the event to parents or other relatives via SMS, as well as the geographic location of the device that read the bracelet. This feature is particularly useful for parents, who can keep track of their children's safety at all times.

It is worth mentioning that Sharewear's NFC bracelet is not only suitable for vulnerable people, but can also be used as a social and business networking tool. Users can set health information to password protection according to their needs to avoid being accessed by others at inappropriate times such as business occasions. At the same time, they can also turn off the function when needed to carry out commercial marketing and other activities.

Since its launch, Sharewear's NFC bracelet has received widespread attention and praise. Seven law enforcement agencies and fire districts in Volusia and Flagler counties have begun to purchase the bracelet for public use. In addition, Sharewear has signed contracts with the Volusia County School District and the County Sheriff's Office to provide 500 bracelets for school-age children with special needs. Anderson said that the sales of this bracelet have far exceeded the company's expectations, and in the future they will continue to publicize and educate the public so that more people can understand and accept NFC technology.

Compared with some popular active trackers on the market, Sharewear's NFC bracelet has passive functions and does not require batteries to work. This makes the bracelet waterproof and able to withstand various environments that active children may be exposed to. At the same time, the passive NFC response also ensures that the system only shares information with those who specifically interact with the wearer, thereby protecting the privacy of users.
