This fertile ground for innovation provides a solid environment for the rapid growth of the AI terminal industry. Leveraging this unique advantage, Shenzhen is becoming a pioneer in the deep integration of large-scale models with industrial applications.
With this in mind, on the afternoon of August 27th, the "Industrial and Financial Symbiosis, Shaping the World Baidu Special - 2025 Large-Scale Model Ecosystem Development Conference," co-hosted by Baidu International Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, was successfully held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Thought Leadership
Academia and Industry Resonate
At the forum's opening, Mr. Ge Ming, Senior Advisor of the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, delivered a speech, deeply elaborating on the key role of industry collaboration and industrial-financial cooperation in the industrialization of AI. He charted the course for the development of the big model ecosystem and highlighted the strategic value of the industry-financial symbiosis model.
With the booming development of artificial intelligence technology, the effective implementation of industrial applications has become a key issue. Academician Chen Junlong, Member of the European Academy of Sciences, Honorary Chairman of the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, and Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Computational Intelligence and Big Models: Unlocking Industrial Intelligent Transformation and a New Model of Industrial-Finance Cooperation." Combining academic research and practical experience, Academician Chen provided an in-depth analysis of the principles and technological development trends of big models, exploring China's path to AI development amidst technological challenges.
Ecosystem Building
Baidu AI Empowers Regional Industrial Intelligent Upgrades
As the integration of big models and hardware terminals enters its "deep waters," building an open ecosystem and achieving the "last mile" from technology to scenarios has become a core issue determining the future industrial landscape. Ecosystem collaboration is also becoming a crucial component of AI hardware innovation. Zeng Xudong, General Manager of Baidu's AI Technology Ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area, noted that Baidu is building an open and inclusive technology ecosystem based on PaddlePaddle and the Wenxin big model, empowering multiple sectors such as smart terminals, smart cities, and financial services, accelerating the intelligent upgrade of industries in the Greater Bay Area. This practice, based on the macro perspective of the industrial ecosystem and building an open and win-win cooperation model, provides strong technical support for regional industrial transformation and upgrading, laying a solid foundation for the symbiosis of industry and finance.
Building on the open source of Baidu's Wenxin big model, Zheng Yue, Head of Baidu's AI Technology Ecosystem for Government and Enterprise in South China, delivered a presentation on the "Wenxin Open Source Innovation Competition." The competition, leveraging the Wenxin 4.5 series of open source models, focuses on two cutting-edge areas: "multimodal applications" and "AI + hardware." It encourages active participation from developers and businesses, stimulating innovation in big models. Zheng Yue also outlined the support policies Baidu's AI technology ecosystem offers its partners, including capacity building, technical support, and brand exposure, to help the ecosystem thrive.
Implementation in Scenarios
A wealth of industry-wide practical cases
To address the long monitoring cycles and high costs of manual inspections in traditional water management, Baidu's AI ecosystem and Bixing IoT have jointly developed an AI-powered smart water monitoring system, reshaping industry standards through the integration of AI, IoT, and big data. Li Qiuyao, Director of Bixing IoT's Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Department, explained that the all-in-one smart water station, built using technologies such as large models, object detection, and image segmentation, enables 24/7 real-time monitoring, intelligent inspections, remote control, and fault self-diagnosis. Currently, the solution has been tested in Shenzhen, Guangxi, Jiangsu, and Henan. Based on PaddlePaddle and Wenxin technologies, it significantly reduces operational costs and significantly improves safety and efficiency. AI technology makes water management more intelligent and efficient.
In the intelligent wave of the Internet of Everything, PaddlePaddle and Wenxin Big Models are empowering intelligent hardware. DeepX, a South Korean AI semiconductor company, has partnered with DeepX to launch a next-generation ultra-low-power AI solution for the edge, redefining the energy efficiency of edge computing. DeepX Manager Jin Yuguang detailed how, from design and cloud collaboration to security architecture, they combine PaddlePaddle and Wenxin open-source model technologies with physical AI and atypical computing models to achieve ultra-low-power industrial implementation solutions, providing new insights for edge scenarios such as smart industry and retail.
Huang Jianhan, Baidu AI Technology Ecosystem Product Operations Manager and PaddlePaddle Developer Technical Expert, presented the "Technical Interpretation of Wenxin Open-Source Big Models," detailing the latest technological breakthroughs in the ERNIE 4.5 series of models. He then led attendees through a hands-on workshop titled "Big Model Open Source Workshop: Fine-tuning the Internet Jargon Model Based on ERNIE 4.5-0.3B," bringing big model application development and fine-tuning technology from concept to practice.
Shaping the Future Together
The Power of a Co-existing Industry-Finance Ecosystem
The three-day Shenzhen (International) General Artificial Intelligence Conference brought together 1,001 top exhibitors from 27 countries and regions, attracting 120,758 professional visitors. The event presented the global industry with a panoramic feast of "technology + products + scenarios + ecosystem." During the conference, leading scientists, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investment institutions, and innovative forces gathered in Shenzhen to discuss cutting-edge trends in artificial intelligence and the future of the industry.
From the intellectual guidance of academicians and practical ecosystem building, to the innovation-driven competitions and collaborative progress among partners, to the in-depth exploration of scenario applications and practical technical exercises—this forum was an in-depth dialogue between industry and finance within the big model ecosystem, and a practice of collaborative innovation among technology, industry, and capital. The big model movement is gaining momentum, and the symbiotic relationship between industry and finance is promising. May this exchange of ideas become a driving force for development, deepen "symbiotic relationship between industry and finance," and make "molding the world" a reality.
Looking ahead, Baidu's AI technology ecosystem will continue to leverage the Wenxin big model and PaddlePaddle deep learning platform, collaborating with partners to build a new ecosystem for AI application development. This will foster synergy across technology roadmap planning, product experience optimization, and joint market promotion, ultimately setting a new benchmark for China's AI industry innovation ecosystem.
