Industry trend|Just now, the world's first NearLink car key smartwatch was officially launched! The NearLink ecosystem is booming!

2025-06-12

On the afternoon of June 11, Huawei officially released the Pura 80 series. Not only is the imaging system completely revamped, it is also equipped with the latest version of Hongmeng OS, and the first NearLink Car Key function, priced from 6,499 yuan.

At the press conference, Huawei WATCH 5 series watches were released on the same stage, pre-installed with Hongmeng OS, and the first to be equipped with the new X-Tap sensor technology, which can realize real-time fingertip blood oxygen testing, priced from 2,699 to 3,999 yuan. More importantly, Huawei WATCH 5 is the world's first smartwatch that supports NearLink Car Key, which can achieve 10-meter accurate reception and 3-meter non-sensing vehicle unlocking.

NearLink completes the ecological closed loop between smart terminals and vehicle systems

Smartphones, smart watches and other terminal devices equipped with NearLink technology can not only realize the "NearLink Search" function, but also build a seamless ecological closed loop between smart terminals and vehicle systems through NearLink car keys.

NearLink technology calculates the distance by measuring the phase difference and flight time (TOF) of the signal, which makes the positioning accuracy of NearLink car keys more than 5 times higher than that of traditional Bluetooth solutions, and the unlocking and locking accuracy is more than 6 times higher.

With mobile phones and watches that support NearLink car keys, the welcome light will automatically light up when the user approaches the vehicle within 10 meters, and the vehicle will be unlocked immediately within 3 meters. When the vehicle is finished and more than 8 meters away from the vehicle, NearLink automatically completes the locking, which completely solves the "penalty" embarrassment caused by inaccurate positioning and delayed response of traditional Bluetooth digital car keys.

Not only that, thanks to the excellent high precision and stability of NearLink, whether it is an emergency situation such as rainy days or activities near the car, the system can stably identify the user's intention and perform corresponding operations to prevent false triggering.

Compared with Bluetooth CS, the NearLink car key is not only at least 2 years ahead in technology, but also supports multi-tone signal ranging, thus performing better in terms of measurement efficiency and accuracy. What is more noteworthy is that the commercialization of the NearLink car key is also faster:

Market dynamics show that mobile phone terminals supporting Bluetooth CS will not be available until the second half of this year at the earliest, while the commercialization of Bluetooth CS in automobiles will not be popularized until the first half of next year.

In sharp contrast, in the field of mobile phones, not only the Pura 80 series released this time supports NearLink technology, but even Huawei's newly released mid-range mobile phones Nova 14 Pro and Ultra series in May are also equipped with this technology. This shows that after the flagship models are equipped with NearLink as standard, Huawei's future full range of mobile phones will be equipped with NearLink technology.

In addition, brands such as Xiaomi, vivo, OPPO and Honor have also joined the International NearLink Alliance, which is expected to accelerate the adaptation of NearLink smart terminals. It is estimated that by the end of 2025, more than 50 million existing smartphones in the Chinese market will support the NearLink car key function through OTA software updates, further promoting the popularization and application of NearLink technology in the field of smart devices.

In the automotive field, NearLink car keys are rapidly expanding to the mainstream consumer market and gradually becoming the standard configuration of models above 200,000 yuan. At present, many flagship models including Zunjie S800, Wenjie M9 2025, Wenjie M8 and Xiangjie S9 extended-range version have integrated NearLink car key technology. Dongfeng's latest Mengshi M817 also supports NearLink car keys.

Not only that, more than a dozen mainstream car brands are accelerating the layout of NearLink car keys. From this point of view, NearLink car keys are gradually gaining wide recognition in the field of smart cars, bringing consumers a more intelligent and convenient car experience.

Hongmeng × NearLink, a perfect match for AIoT interaction

Another highlight of this conference is that Huawei WATCH 5 is not only the world's first NearLink watch, but also the first Hongmeng AI watch. Echoing the world's first NearLink computer, Huawei Hongmeng Computer, which has previously sparked heated discussions in the industry, the concentrated appearance of this series of innovative products marks that the intelligent ecosystem of NearLink × Hongmeng is accelerating its construction, setting a new benchmark for seamless interconnection and intelligent experience across devices and scenarios.

In 2023, Huawei's Yu Chengdong officially announced the combination of Hongmeng system and NearLink technology. The two complement each other in the underlying communication capabilities and upper-level operating system scheduling, respectively, to bring a smoother experience to human-computer interaction in the era of intelligent interconnection of all things.

On the one hand, as the "communication base" of Hongmeng, NearLink will bring six aspects of innovative experience to the Hongmeng ecosystem, namely lower energy consumption, faster data transmission, lower transmission delay, more stable and reliable wireless connection, wider signal coverage, and larger networking scale, solving the performance bottleneck of traditional Bluetooth and WiFi in complex scenarios.

On the other hand, Hongmeng system, through distributed architecture, is a hardware ecosystem built for all-scenario intelligence, and is naturally adapted to NearLink technology, so that NearLink technology can be quickly introduced into multiple devices such as mobile phones, watches, tablets, and cars, reducing development costs and accelerating ecological expansion.

Not only that, Hongmeng AI's intention prediction combined with the precise positioning capability of NearLink with an error of <10cm can bring users an intelligent decision-making experience based on spatial location, such as realizing automatic opening and closing of refrigerators, air conditioning wind avoiding people, water heater temperature adjustment and other smart home "black technology" functions.

Since the official commercial launch in 2023, the NearLink Alliance has more than 1,200 member units, and hundreds of ecological partners have launched products equipped with NearLink technology. With core advantages such as ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, and strong stability, NearLink technology has deeply penetrated into multiple scenarios such as smart homes, consumer electronics, and automotive electronics. Currently, there are more than 100 related categories, covering multiple industries such as digital, home appliances, and games.

Today, the NearLink × Hongmeng technology matrix is accelerating the construction of a cross-device, full-scenario intelligent ecosystem. This underlying technology integration not only demonstrates Huawei's forward-looking layout in the era of the Internet of Everything, but also relies on the open architecture of the Hongmeng system to provide a highly reliable, low-power, and highly compatible digital base for scenarios such as smart homes and smart travel.

Looking into the future, when smartphones, smart watches, PCs, tablets, smart cars and whole-house smart systems are fully equipped with NearLink technology, the AIoT vision of "all things connected and coordinated" will truly be realized - from terminal interconnection to scene linkage, from single-point intelligence to global perception, the NearLink ecosystem will use the power of its technological base to reshape the intelligent interaction paradigm of people, devices and space.
