On August 28, 2024, the "2nd E-Paper Industry Innovation Application Conference (ePIC 2024)" and the Seminar on Smart Internet of Things Innovation Application to Help Urban low-carbon Digital Transformation was successfully held in Shenzhen National Exhibition Center (Bao 'an).

The event was guided by the Electronic Paper Industry Alliance and co-hosted by CINNO. ePaper Insight and Shenzhen Internet of Things Industry Association.

Mr. Chen Jianghan, vice president of Shenzhen Internet of Things Industry Association, warmly welcomed the guests and said that electronic paper technology is showing great potential in the fields of smart labels, electronic shelf labels, smart wear and smart education with its characteristics of low power consumption, wide perspective and flexibility, and has become an important part of the Internet of Things display field.

Chen Jianghan stressed that the development of the electronic paper industry cannot be separated from the support and cooperation of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, and thanked them for their long-term active participation in the IOTE International Internet of Things Exhibition.

Chen Jianghan also announced that IOTE will launch the establishment of the World Intelligent Networking Innovation Alliance (WAIA) to promote the research and development of AIOT technology, standards development and market expansion through global cooperation, and promote the internationalization of the intelligent Internet of Things industry.

Looking to the future,IOTE plans to continue to explore the international market and jointly promote the application of AIOT technology in intelligent warehousing logistics, industrial iot, smart city, smart home, smart retail and other fields.

Ms. Bai Weimin, former deputy inspector of the Electronics Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech, she said that electronic paper technology, as a new display technology, has low power consumption, wide perspective and other characteristics, and has been significantly applied in education, medical care, advertising, transportation and other fields.

Bai Weimin pointed out that the development of the electronic paper industry not only relies on the improvement of hardware, but also needs to promote innovation in the content industry and applications.

She called on the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to work closely together to promote the popularization and development of e-paper in more scenarios through application innovation and content development, and contribute to the low-carbon digital transformation of smart cities.

In addition, Bai Weimin also praised the efforts of the e-Paper Industry Alliance and IOTE iot Exhibition in promoting industry exchanges and cooperation, and encouraged all parties to work together in the challenge to jointly promote the e-paper industry to a new height.

Chen Rengui, senior vice president of BOE Group, said that electronic paper, as an ancient and emerging display technology, has achieved rapid growth in the market in recent years.

Thanks to the progress of e-paper technology and the long-term investment of the industry, the annual growth rate of the e-paper industry is close to 30%, and the market size is expected to reach 40 billion yuan in 2024. At present, e-paper is mainly used in traditional fields such as electronic price tags and office books, accounting for 95% of the market.

Future innovative applications should focus on more segmented others markets, such as electronic billboards, circular packaging, industrial instrumentation and other B-end markets, as well as C-end market mobile phone cases and other emerging applications.

Chen Rengui believes that through continuous expansion and innovation, the e-paper industry will achieve greater development space, he also called for upstream and downstream industry chain to continue to cooperate to jointly promote the development of the e-paper industry.

Zhou Aijun, chairman of Oriental Kemai, pointed out that the e-paper industry has great potential in the globalization trend and emerging industry applications.

At present, the globalization of electronic paper manufacturing is an inevitable trend, and emerging technological breakthroughs will promote the development of the industry, and the support of the government and industrial funds is crucial.

He also pointed out that the joint of the core industrial chain and mutual respect for intellectual property rights are the key to future development.

At the same time, he is optimistic about the market prospects of flexible electronic paper and the development of color-enhancing electronic technology, which will bring new opportunities for color reading.

Zhou Aijun called on the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to work together to promote the sustainable development of the electronic paper industry and meet a broader market prospect.

This conference comprehensively reviewed the highlights of the innovative application of electronic paper in the past year, and demonstrated the "first" breakthroughs in many fields.

The conference brought together more than 200 e-paper industry and upstream and downstream enterprises interested in the industry, such as E Ink Yuantai Technology and BOE, showing the industry's cohesion and vigorous development prospects.
