Industry trend|From chasing tens of millions of orders to Oura's 900 million financing, the explosion of the blue ocean market at your fingertips is unstoppable!

2025-10-20

Nowadays, more and more people are wearing smart wearable devices, and the product categories are diverse, ranging from smart bracelets to smart watches to smart glasses. In recent years, the "new favorite" hidden on your fingertips—smart rings—have also been gaining popularity, and their market potential is gradually emerging.

In early October of this year, Dreame launched pre-sales for its first vibrating AI smart ring, and orders for the product have exceeded 10 million, setting a new record for high-end smart wearable device sales during the same period. Meanwhile, Finland's Oura performed even more strongly, securing another $900 million in funding, bringing its valuation to $11 billion, more than double its previous round of financing in December of last year.

How can a small ring drive such a frenzy of consumer orders and attract so much investment?

A blockbuster debut, Dreame's AI smart ring has surpassed 10 million orders

In September of this year, Dreame unveiled its first AI smart ring at a full-scenario new product launch event. This innovative product cleverly combines the three functional attributes of "health monitoring, fashion jewelry, and interactive equipment". It breaks industry conventions with its exclusive vibration active interaction technology, upgrading the traditional wearable experience of "passively viewing data" to an intelligent companion that "actively delivers care."

According to relevant information, the core highlight of Dreame's first AI smart ring lies in its world-first vibration interaction system. Leveraging its extensive expertise in motor technology, Dreame innovatively embeds an ultra-micro vibration motor into the ring's body, which is only 2.5mm thick. When the user's heart rate fluctuates abnormally, a sleep cycle ends, or a hydration reminder is needed after prolonged sitting, the ring actively transmits signals through subtle vibrations. This allows users to access critical information without frequently unlocking their phone. This "device-to-user" interaction logic solves the user pain point of traditional wearable devices, where data resides in the app.

In addition to its innovative vibration interaction design, the Dreame AI smart ring also excels in hardware configuration and user experience, achieving both aesthetics and performance. As a precise health monitoring device, the ring integrates three high-precision sensors: heart rate, blood oxygen, and body temperature. Combined with a low-power processing chip and an innovative stacked architecture, it enables 24-hour, full-scene data collection in a compact package, providing users with comprehensive and uninterrupted health data monitoring.

The ring also features a menstrual cycle prediction module and SOS safety features specifically tailored for female users. Combined with AI algorithms, it provides customized health advice, truly achieving the upgrade from "data recording" to "health guidance."

Demi's first vibrating AI smart ring officially launched pre-sales online and offline on October 1st. With its unique, differentiated technology and comprehensive, practical health management features, it quickly gained widespread market recognition. Sales have reportedly exceeded 10 million, setting a new sales record for high-end smart wearable devices during the same period.

Oura, a smart ring, secures $900 million in funding, with sales exceeding 5.5 million units.

Finnish health tech company Oura recently announced the completion of a new round of financing, raising $900 million. This round was led by Fidelity Management & Research, with participation from international investors including ICONIQ, Whale Rock, and Atreides. With this round, the company's valuation has jumped to $11 billion, more than double its valuation in its previous round of funding in December of last year.

It is understood that the newly raised funds will be used to accelerate AI and production technology innovation, develop new health features, and expand global distribution channels.

Since its launch in 2015, Oura has sold over 5.5 million smart rings. Sales of the brand's smart rings have exploded over the past year, with sales accounting for more than half of its total sales that year alone.

Oura's smart ring manufacturer's revenue will more than double to $500 million by 2024, and the company expects this growth trend to continue this year, with sales expected to exceed $1 billion. According to a report released by IDC, Oura holds a dominant position in the smart ring market, with a market share exceeding 80%.

Last October, Oura launched its latest product, the Oura Ring 4, which features comprehensive upgrades, focusing on heart rate accuracy and a more comfortable fit. Its automatic exercise detection feature supports over 40 exercise types, can identify exercise types in real time, and has significantly improved battery life. Earlier this month, Oura relaunched its smart ring with a ceramic version, accompanied by an optional new charging dock for enhanced user convenience.

In addition to its continued focus on health tracking hardware, Oura has expanded into health monitoring. This month, Oura launched a new feature called "Health Dashboard" within its app. Through this feature, users can schedule blood tests at 2,000 Quest Diagnostics laboratories in the US for $99. It should be noted that Oura does not provide medical advice, but users can view reports within the app and receive general health advice through an AI chatbot, providing more comprehensive support for health management.

The trend is unstoppable: the innovative transformation of smart rings

In recent years, the advancement of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and bio-integration, coupled with people's increasing emphasis on personal health management and a stronger desire for a more convenient lifestyle, have fueled a strong market desire and urgent demand for innovative smart products.

Smart rings, as a new type of wearable device, cleverly blend advanced technology with fashionable elements, embodying people's expectations for the fusion of technology and aesthetics. Amidst continuous technological innovation and iteration, smart rings have gradually demonstrated their unique advantages and enormous potential, emerging in the market and rapidly becoming a popular product favored by consumers.

According to a Grand View Research report, the global smart ring market was estimated to be worth approximately US$349 million in 2024 and is projected to soar to US$1.102 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 21.1% from 2025 to 2030, demonstrating robust growth.

With continued technological advancement and increasingly diversified market demands, smart rings are accelerating their development along three key axes, continuously expanding their application boundaries and value proposition.

1. Technological Innovation: From Passive Monitoring to Active Intervention

Amidst this wave of technological innovation, smart rings are undergoing a transformation from "data loggers" to "health managers." The AI smart ring released by Zhuimi is a prime example. Early smart rings had relatively simple functions, primarily focusing on passively monitoring users' physiological data, such as heart rate and sleep quality, to provide basic health information.

Today, however, thanks to continuous technological breakthroughs and rapid development, smart rings have achieved a qualitative leap in functionality, moving towards proactive intervention. They not only accurately monitor various physiological indicators in real time, but also provide users with personalized health recommendations and interventions based on these results. The emergence of these innovative features demonstrates that smart rings are no longer simply passively recording data; they can proactively provide care and advice to users, helping them embark on a new chapter in healthy living.

2. User Segmentation: From Feature Overload to Targeted Use Cases

In the past, smart ring designs tended to overload features, attempting to combine various functions into one device to meet the needs of diverse users. However, with intensifying market competition and increasingly sophisticated user needs, smart rings are shifting towards user segmentation and focused use case development.

Smart rings have introduced targeted features and designs for different user groups, such as sports enthusiasts, seniors, and women. For sports enthusiasts, smart rings can provide detailed exercise data monitoring, such as distance traveled, speed, and calories burned, and offer professional exercise guidance and training plans tailored to specific activity types. For seniors, smart rings focus more on health monitoring and safety alerts, such as fall detection and emergency calls, providing comprehensive support for their daily lives. For women, smart rings can incorporate menstrual cycle monitoring to provide personalized health advice and beauty reminders, meeting their specific health and beauty needs.

Furthermore, smart rings are optimized for different usage scenarios. In work settings, they can connect with office equipment to provide information reminders, schedule meetings, and other functions, improving work efficiency. In leisure settings, they can serve as fashion accessories, complementing the user's outfit and showcasing their individuality. By deeply integrating into specific scenarios, smart rings can better meet user needs in specific situations and enhance the user experience.

3. Ecosystem Integration: From Standalone Device to Scenario Hub

In the era of the Internet of Everything, with the advancement of IoT technology and the continuous improvement of intelligent ecosystems, smart rings are no longer content to be isolated devices. Instead, they are actively integrating into various ecosystems, becoming intelligent hubs that connect different devices and scenarios, enabling seamless connectivity and interoperability with multiple devices.

For example, smart rings can connect with smartphones, smartwatches, smart home devices, and more, forming an integrated whole. By connecting to a smartphone, users can receive notifications and control mobile apps on their smart rings. Connecting with smartwatches allows for data sharing and complementation, providing users with more comprehensive and accurate health monitoring and lifestyle management services. Connecting with smart home devices allows users to remotely control lights, appliances, and other devices from their smart rings, enabling a smarter home lifestyle.

Final Note

Whether it's the smart rings from Zhuimi, which are sparking a new consumer boom with their differentiated technology and innovative features, or Oura, which has established a leading position in the smart ring market with its precise health monitoring and premium user experience, what lies behind this is a new revolution in the smart wearables market. As health monitoring moves from being "visible" to "invisible," and as tech products evolve from being "feature-heavy" to becoming "personal butlers," this new market at your fingertips may be poised for a breakout moment!
