Industry trend|The Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge was opened on June 30, creating new opportunities for the AIoT industry layout in the Greater Bay Area!

2024-06-28

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as a model of economic vitality in China and even the world, has a total economic output of more than 14 trillion yuan in 2023, accounting for only 0.6% of the country's land area, but contributing nearly 1/9 of the country's economic output.

Although the eight major cities around the Pearl River Estuary are separated by water, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has closely connected Hong Kong, Macao and Zhuhai, while the Humen Bridge and Nansha Bridge have further shortened the distance between Guangzhou, Dongguan and Foshan. However, there has been a lack of a direct sea route between Zhongshan and Shenzhen.

With the upcoming opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, this gap will soon be filled. It is expected that this important transportation link will be officially opened on June 30.

The journey that once spanned more than 120 kilometers has now been shortened to just over 20 kilometers. The journey that originally took 2 hours can now be easily reached in just half an hour. The completion of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is not only a powerful engine for the economic take-off of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but also an important symbol of regional integrated development. It is expected that the daily traffic volume will reach 100,000 vehicles after its opening. It is believed that all walks of life in the cities on the east and west banks of the Pearl River are ready to go, go all out to seize major opportunities, and look forward to catching the "traffic" of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel.

What are the AIoT layouts in Zhongshan?

1. Smart home, smart lighting and smart home appliances: Zhongshan has a solid foundation in the home appliance and lighting industries, and has multiple home appliance and audio manufacturing and supporting bases, such as Nantou Town, Xiaolan Town, Dongfeng Town, Huangpu Town, etc. These areas use IoT technology for intelligent upgrades, which are highly compatible with the electronic information industry, especially the IoT.

2. Smart city construction: Zhongshan has realized the intelligence of urban management through IoT technology, such as the "City Brain" project, which has achieved unified access and management of more than 35,000 IoT devices and terminals through IoT, video sharing exchange and intelligent analysis, and geographic space "one map" and other technologies.

3. Zhongshan City actively builds economic development zones, such as Guangdong Banfu Economic Development Zone, Cuiheng New District, Torch Development Zone, etc., to promote the development of the AIoT industry.

4. Introduced major projects in the field of AIoT with a total investment of 3 billion yuan: such as the AIOT Smart Office IoT South China R&D and Production Headquarters Project

5. Formed an AIoT industrial cluster

Cuiheng New District was established at Ma'an Island, the landing point of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel. Cuiheng New District is an important layout area for the Internet of Things industry in Zhongshan City. Relying on a number of emerging industrial platforms such as the Harbin Institute of Technology Robot Unmanned Equipment Industrial Base, the Bay Area Future Science and Technology City, the Cuiheng District Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park, the Zhongshan Life Science Park, and the Zhongshan Software Park, it gathers resources such as scientific and technological innovation, finance, and education to develop industries such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

At the same time, it also relies on the Torch Development Zone to develop a new generation of electronic information industry, and through the China Electronics (Zhongshan) Base, focuses on the development of a new generation of communication networks, the Internet of Things, large-scale industrial software, etc. At present, the industrial park has gathered a number of electronic information industries such as Wistron, Northern Optoelectronics, and Phoenix Optics.

So what new opportunities will AIoT bring to the Greater Bay Area?

1. Industrial cluster development: Zhongshan's IoT industrial cluster may be strengthened by the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel. For example, Zhongshan's smart home industry can introduce advanced IoT technologies and innovative concepts through cooperation with high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen to promote local industrial upgrading.

2. Enterprise market expansion: IoT enterprises can use the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel to enter the Shenzhen market more quickly and participate in a wider range of market competition. For example, smart security enterprises in Zhongshan can respond to the needs of the Shenzhen market more quickly and provide customized solutions.

3. Technical cooperation and exchange: The completion of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel will promote technical exchanges and cooperation between enterprises in the two places. Zhongshan's IoT enterprises can establish cooperative relations with scientific research institutions and universities in Shenzhen to jointly carry out technology research and development projects and accelerate the transformation and application of technological achievements.

4. Infrastructure construction: With the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, Zhongshan's infrastructure construction will be strengthened, including full coverage of 5G communication networks, which provides a more stable and efficient network environment for the IoT industry and helps promote the application of IoT technology in smart cities, smart transportation and other fields.

5. Industrial chain collaboration: The opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel will strengthen the collaboration between Zhongshan and Shenzhen in the industrial chain, forming a "Shenzhen R&D + Zhongshan transformation" model. Zhongshan enterprises can undertake the transformation of Shenzhen's high-tech achievements, such as the production and manufacturing of core components such as IoT chips and sensors.

6. Talent flow and introduction: The completion of the channel will facilitate the flow of high-end talents from Shenzhen to Zhongshan, providing more talent support for the IoT industry. Zhongshan enterprises can attract IoT professionals from Shenzhen through more favorable conditions and promote the improvement of corporate R&D capabilities.

7. Industrial policy support: The Zhongshan Municipal Government may introduce more support policies for the IoT industry, take advantage of the opportunities brought by the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, create a demonstration zone for the development of the IoT industry, and attract more investment and projects.

8. Smart city construction: The opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel will promote the pace of smart city construction in Zhongshan, and provide a broader platform for the application of IoT technology in urban management, traffic monitoring, environmental monitoring and other fields.

9. Regional economic integration: The completion of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel will promote economic integration among cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Zhongshan's Internet of Things companies can better integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area and enjoy the dividends brought by regional integration.

It will be opened at the end of the month. How to connect to new opportunities as quickly as possible?

IOTE 2024 The 22nd International Internet of Things Exhibition Shenzhen Station will be held in Halls 9, 10 and 12 of Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Bao'an New Hall) from August 28 to 30. This exhibition will gather the most cutting-edge development technologies, the richest application scenarios and the most active corporate exhibitors in the Internet of Things industry.
