As a hub for AI innovation in China, Shenzhen has attracted over 2,600 AI-related companies and boasts national and provincial research platforms such as the Pengcheng Laboratory and the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. This fertile ground for innovation provides a solid foundation for the rapid growth of the AI terminal industry. Leveraging this unique advantage, Shenzhen is becoming a pioneer in the deep integration of big models with industrial applications.
With this in mind, on the afternoon of August 27th, the "Industry-Finance Symbiosis, Shaping the World Baidu Special - 2025 Big Model Ecosystem Development Conference" was successfully held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, co-hosted by Baidu International Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association.
Thought Leadership
Academia and Industry Resonate
At the opening of the forum, Mr. Ge Ming, Senior Advisor of the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, delivered a speech in which he elaborated on the key role of industry collaboration and industry-finance cooperation in the industrialization of AI, charted the course for the development of the big model ecosystem, and highlighted the strategic value of the industry-finance symbiosis model.
Amid the booming development of artificial intelligence technology, the effective implementation of industrial applications has become a key issue. Academician Chen Junlong, Member of the European Academy of Sciences, Honorary President of the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, and Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Computational Intelligence and Big Models: Unlocking Industrial Intelligent Transformation and a New Model of Industry-Finance Cooperation." Academician Chen, combining academic research with practical experience, provided an in-depth analysis of the principles and technological development trends of big models, exploring China's path to AI development amidst technological challenges.
Ecosystem Building
Baidu AI Empowers Regional Industrial Intelligent Upgrades
As the integration of big models and hardware terminals enters its "deep waters," building an open ecosystem and achieving the "last mile" from technology to application scenarios has become a core issue determining the future industrial landscape. Ecosystem collaboration is also becoming a crucial component of AI hardware innovation. Zeng Xudong, General Manager of Baidu's AI Technology Ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area, noted that Baidu is building an open and inclusive technology ecosystem based on PaddlePaddle and Wenxin Big Models, empowering multiple sectors including smart devices, smart cities, and financial services, accelerating the intelligent upgrade of industries in the Greater Bay Area. This practice, taking a macro perspective from the perspective of the industrial ecosystem and building an open and win-win cooperation model, provides strong technical support for regional industrial transformation and upgrading, laying a solid foundation for the symbiosis of industry and finance.
Building on the open source of Baidu's Wenxin big model, Zheng Yue, Head of Baidu's AI Technology Ecosystem for Government and Enterprise in South China, delivered a presentation on the "Wenxin Open Source Innovation Competition." The competition, leveraging the Wenxin 4.5 series of open source models, focuses on two cutting-edge areas: "multimodal applications" and "AI + hardware." It encourages active participation from developers and businesses, stimulating innovation in big models. Zheng Yue also outlined the support policies Baidu's AI technology ecosystem offers its partners, including capacity building, technical support, and brand exposure, to help the ecosystem thrive.
Implementation in Scenarios
A wealth of industry-wide practical cases
To address the long monitoring cycles and high manual inspection costs of traditional systems, Baidu's AI ecosystem and Bixing IoT have jointly developed an AI-powered smart water monitoring system, reshaping industry standards with AI, IoT, and big data. Li Qiuyao, Director of Bixing IoT's Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Department, explained that the all-in-one smart water station, built using technologies such as large models, object detection, and image segmentation, enables 24/7 real-time monitoring, intelligent inspections, remote control, and fault self-diagnosis. Currently, the solution has been tested in Shenzhen, Guangxi, Jiangsu, and Henan. Based on PaddlePaddle and Wenxin technologies, it significantly reduces operation and maintenance costs, significantly improves safety and efficiency, and AI technology makes ecological monitoring smarter and more efficient.
In the era of intelligent interconnectedness, PaddlePaddle and Wenxin large models are empowering intelligent hardware. In partnership with DeepX, a South Korean AI semiconductor company, we are launching the next-generation ultra-low-power AI solution for the edge, redefining the energy efficiency of edge computing. DeepX Manager Jin Yuguang detailed how PaddlePaddle and Wenxin open-source model technologies, combined with physical AI and atypical computing models, achieve ultra-low power industrial implementation solutions, providing new insights for edge scenarios such as smart industry and retail.
Huang Jianhan, Baidu AI Technology Ecosystem Product Operations Manager and PaddlePaddle Developer Technical Expert, presented the "Wenxin Open-Source Big Model Technology Interpretation," detailing the latest technological breakthroughs in the ERNIE 4.5 series of models. He then led attendees in a hands-on workshop titled "Big Model Open Source Workshop: Fine-tuning the Internet Jargon Model Based on ERNIE 4.5-0.3B," bringing big model application development and fine-tuning technology from concept to practice.
