China Tower is a large-scale state-owned communication infrastructure service enterprise established under the promotion of the State Council in the context of implementing the network power strategy, deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises, and promoting the sharing of telecommunications infrastructure resources. It was jointly funded by China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., China Unicom Group Co., Ltd., and China Telecom Group Co., Ltd. and was listed on July 18, 2014.
On August 8, 2018, China Tower was successfully listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 0788.HK), raising US$7.5 billion, becoming the largest non-financial Chinese state-owned enterprise Hong Kong IPO in history. In 2019, the company was selected as Fortune Global Future 50 (ranked 22nd) and Global Digital Economy Top 100 (ranked 71st); from 2018 to 2022, it was continuously rated as the "Most Investment-worthy Listed Company" of the China Securities Golden Bauhinia Award, and won the "14th Five-Year Plan Most Investment-worthy Listed Company" Special Award at the 11th China Securities Golden Bauhinia Award.
China Tower implements a general-branch structure, with its headquarters in Beijing, and has established 31 provincial branches and municipal branches across the country.
It is mainly engaged in the construction, maintenance and operation of supporting facilities for base stations such as communication towers, high-speed rail and subway public network coverage, and large-scale indoor distribution systems; at the same time, relying on its unique resources, it provides information applications and energy application services such as intelligent power replacement, backup power, and charging to the society. It is the "national team" of my country's mobile communication infrastructure construction and the "main force" of 5G new infrastructure.
The main purpose of the establishment of China Tower is to deepen resource sharing, reduce duplicate construction, and achieve economic and efficient deployment of communication networks. China Tower gives full play to its core advantages of "low cost, high efficiency, and excellent service", cooperates with various telecommunications companies to deepen sharing and sharing, and economically and efficiently supports the layout of 4G and 5G high-speed mobile broadband networks, and strongly supports the construction of "network power" and "digital China".
By the end of June 2024, China Tower's site scale will exceed 2.1 million, total assets will exceed 320 billion yuan, and net assets will exceed 190 billion yuan. It will grow and become the world's largest communication infrastructure service provider.
During the same period, the total number of tower sites available to telecom companies increased by 1.5 times, covering a total mileage of more than 45,000 kilometers of high-speed rail and subway tunnels, and an indoor coverage area of more than 11.5 billion square meters, helping my country build the world's largest and best-quality 4G/5G network. The sharing level of newly built towers has increased significantly from the historical 14.3% to 85%, equivalent to building 1.16 million fewer towers and saving 208.5 billion yuan in industry investment. The reform results are fully demonstrated and summarized as the "shared competitive tower model."

The offline award ceremony for this year's IoT Star selection will be held at the "2025 China IoT Enterprise Overseas and Innovation Development Summit and the "2024 IoT Star" Annual List Award Ceremony".
