2024-10-12

Recently, Avery Dennison announced that its new plant in Querétaro, Mexico, has officially started production. This is not only Avery Dennison's largest plant to date, but will also become one of the world's largest RFID (radio frequency identification) sites. The establishment of this plant marks an important step for Avery Dennison in promoting the application of digital identification technology, providing more efficient and intelligent solutions for global customers.

The Querétaro plant is located in the new FINSA III Industrial Park in Querétaro City, covering an area of approximately 25,000 square meters, with a construction area of 50,000 square meters, and an investment of more than 1.2 billion yuan (US$179 million). The plant is equipped with intelligent systems and data-driven processes, achieving a seamless integration of technology and human expertise, and is designed to provide products and services that keep pace with the rapidly changing market landscape. This move not only highlights Avery Dennison's emphasis on RFID and digital ID technology, but also reflects its leadership in the global market.

As Avery Dennison's largest RFID factory in the world, the Querétaro plant will manufacture a wide range of RFID solutions to meet the needs of multiple industries such as apparel, food, healthcare, logistics and general retail. These solutions will help optimize supply chain and labor efficiency, reduce waste, and improve sustainability, transparency and circularity, thereby creating greater value for businesses, people and the planet.

Francisco Melo, President of Avery Dennison Solutions Group, said: "The state of Querétaro and the city of Querétaro pay special attention to sustainable development, while benefiting from a superior geographical location and skilled labor. These conditions provide us with a good environment to enable us to provide customers with the leading services they expect from Avery Dennison. The commissioning of the new factory proves our commitment to "making everything possible", and we will continue to expand our capabilities to help solve industry challenges."

It is worth mentioning that the Querétaro plant is also committed to sustainable development. The plant will soon obtain LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a globally recognized rating system that demonstrates the building's commitment to sustainable development. In addition, the plant will also contribute to the country's decarbonization efforts, in line with the circular economy policy advocated by Querétaro.

In terms of operations, the Querétaro plant will operate in three shifts, integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation to improve production efficiency and flexibility. This will enable Avery Dennison to provide high-quality customized products and monitor market demand in real time to better meet customer needs.

In addition to its contribution to the local economy, the Querétaro plant will create multiple direct jobs and strengthen the region's industrial sector. The implementation of this project is another step in consolidating Querétaro as a center for innovation and technological development, and also attracting more companies that focus on sustainability and social responsibility to Mexico.

Avery Dennison has a history of nearly 90 years in material innovation and is a pioneer in the development of RFID technology with more than 1,500 patents. The commissioning of the Querétaro plant will further consolidate Avery Dennison's leadership in the smart label industry and promote the application and development of digital identification technology in various industries.

In addition to Mexico, Avery Dennison has established self-adhesive composite coating plants in Kunshan, Guangzhou and other places since entering the Chinese market in 1994. Avery has 20 production, slitting and sales branches in China with a large number of employees. In 2007, Avery Dennison established the Asia Pacific R&D Center in Kunshan, focusing on developing products suitable for local Chinese needs. The R&D center has professional coating equipment and world-class production processes, dedicated to meeting the growing needs of customers and end consumers.

In addition, Avery Dennison has factories and branches in more than 50 countries around the world, which together support the company's global operations. In addition to Mexico and China, Avery Dennison also has production bases in other regions to meet the needs of local markets.
