Industry trend|Ankai Micro: New generation of low-power Bluetooth chips released

2025-03-05

On March 3, SoC chip manufacturer Anyka Micro officially launched the IoT Bluetooth audio chip AK1080 series and AnyBlue1080 platform solution.

According to reports, the AK1080 series and its platform solution have the characteristics of low power consumption, support for classic Bluetooth (BR/EDR) and BLE dual-mode, high-quality audio and good compatibility, and can be applied to AI headsets (TWS, OWS), AI helmets, Bluetooth dual-mode transparent transmission and other scenarios.

AK1080 series chips

The AK1080 series is the fifth generation of Bluetooth chips from Ankai Micro. It adopts a 22nm process and has four core advantages: low power consumption, support for dual-mode Bluetooth operation, high-quality audio, and good compatibility.

Specifically, in A2DP music mode, the chip consumes only 4mA (at medium volume); at the same time, it supports classic Bluetooth (BR/EDR) and BLE dual-mode synchronous operation, which is powerful; built-in 24-bit DAC, it can output high signal-to-noise ratio audio signals even when low-voltage audio data is input, and supports 16-band EQ adjustment, which can flexibly adjust the sound effects to meet the listening needs of different users and ensure high-quality audio experience; in addition, the chip has excellent compatibility and can be perfectly adapted to more than 200 mainstream brands and models of mobile phones.

At present, based on the AK1080 low-power Bluetooth chip, many customers have initiated projects to develop a variety of smart products, which will enter the mass production stage in the near future.

AnyBlue1080 PDK

AnyBlue1080 PDK is a platform system provided by Anykai Microelectronics for customers. This platform system supports system drivers for multiple hardware modules such as PDM, I2S, UART, TWI, SPI, SAR ADC, etc., which greatly facilitates the utilization and management of hardware resources. In addition, it is also equipped with kernel and driver interface tools, as well as RISC-V64-unknown-elf-gcc cross-compilation tools, to build an efficient and reliable compilation environment for developers.

In terms of development environment, AnyBlue1080 PDK builds VSCode+CMake configuration and supports solution development through advanced configuration tools, which means that developers can easily implement project configuration and customization without directly editing the code.

In addition, AnyBlue1080 PDK also supports online audio debugging during calls or music playback, including real-time adjustment of equalizer (EQ) and audio algorithm parameters, which greatly improves the flexibility and efficiency of audio processing and debugging. For the production test link, it provides powerful production test tools, supports one-to-eight production line burning and frequency deviation calibration, and effectively ensures the stability and efficiency of product quality.

Ankaiwei said that the company's Bluetooth chip series has been widely used in terminal products such as smart door locks, smart speakers, early education/toys, etc. In the future, the company will rely on chip products to create a full range of multimedia experience for customers covering audio, video, voice, images, graphics, etc., and provide comprehensive technical support for users to achieve the transition from multimedia to multimodal experience from the chip level.

Net profit in 2024 decreased by 311.48% year-on-year

On February 28, Ankaiwei released its 2024 annual performance report, saying that in 2024, the company achieved operating income of 527 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 7.94%; and achieved a net profit attributable to the parent company's owners of -56.7682 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 311.48%.

As for the reasons for the decline in performance, Ankai Micro stated that benefiting from the continuous increase in the penetration rate of the company's IoT camera chips among customers, the shipment volume of chip products has achieved growth. However, affected by the intensified market competition in some parts of the semiconductor industry, the prices of some products have been under pressure, resulting in a decline in the overall gross profit margin.

At the same time, in order to maintain the comprehensive market competitiveness of chip products, the company continues to increase R&D investment, enhance the intelligence level of IoT camera chips and the core competitiveness of related technologies, strengthen the R&D layout of other chip products, and strengthen the R&D of solutions based on the company's chip products. R&D investment has increased year-on-year. Mainly under the combined influence of the above factors, the company's operating profit, total profit, net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company, net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses, basic earnings per share, and weighted average return on net assets have declined.
