Recently, many media reported that Microsoft's Windows operating system supply license to Huawei will expire this month, and Huawei PC can only adopt the national localization solution after that, that is, it can only launch PC products using domestic chips + domestic operating systems.
In September last year, Yu Chengdong, chairman of Huawei Terminal BG, also publicly stated in the CCTV live broadcast room that due to the sanctions, "Windows PC may stop supplying, it may be the last batch, and only our Hongmeng PC will be used in the future."
At present, Huawei Terminal has not responded to this matter, but judging from market dynamics, there are more and more news about Huawei's self-developed PC.
Huawei's new PC product is exposed: the localization rate is nearly 100%
Huawei last updated its PC products in August 2024, when Huawei launched the MateBook GT 14, which is equipped with Intel Core Ultra series processors, integrated Intel Ruixuan graphics card, and can be connected to an external graphics card cube.
Seven months later, the latest news says that Huawei will launch its first laptop equipped with Linux system-MateBook D16 Linux version, which has begun to be supplied. The hardware configuration of this product is consistent with the existing MateBook D16. The main difference is that the operating system uses Linux instead of Windows. Its price is 4299 yuan, which is 300 yuan cheaper than the Windows version.
Not only consumer-grade PCs, but also new progress has been made in Huawei's new commercial PC products. Industry sources said that Huawei's new Qingyun commercial PC product will be launched soon and has been exposed during the two sessions.
The biggest highlight of this notebook is that its full stack of software and hardware is controllable. The core components are fully self-developed, with a localization rate of nearly 100%. It integrates the DeepSeek large model, and the chip and operating system are Kunpeng CPU and Hongmeng OS respectively. It is expected to be released in April and will be officially unveiled at the Huawei China Partner Conference in the near future.
Some industry insiders believe that Hongmeng PC is expected to be launched first in the government and enterprise market. Government and enterprise users have low requirements for computer performance, but extremely high requirements for information security and stability. The software used is relatively simple, the architecture power consumption is not large, and the adaptation difficulty is relatively low.
