Industry trend|Avery launches "Second Generation Special RFID Tags"

2024-10-11

Two years ago, Avery Dennison launched the AD Maxdura series of high-performance RFID tags designed to meet the application needs of various harsh environmental conditions. This series of tags combines Avery Dennison's expertise in material science and RF design to provide users with reliable and durable solutions.

AD Maxdura tags are made of special materials that can withstand extreme environmental conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, detergent immersion, etc. This makes them very suitable for applications that require high durability, such as laundry management and tire manufacturing. These tags have excellent RFID performance and can be accurately identified by readers at a long distance. This greatly simplifies the inventory management process and improves work efficiency.

It is worth mentioning that Avery Dennison is committed to sustainable development, and environmentally friendly materials and technologies are used in the manufacturing process of AD Maxdura tags. In addition, these tags can also provide detailed information on the materials used to manufacture the product, which helps to recycle the product at the end of its service life.

Due to these characteristics, AD Maxdura flexible UHF RFID laundry tags can be used in the laundry management industry and can continue to work under detergent, multiple water immersion washing and high temperature conditions. They help improve the efficiency of water and energy utilization and simplify inventory management processes.

Alternatively, AD Maxdura tire tags can also be attached directly to tires, enabling products to be tracked and traced through the logistics chain. This helps reduce errors that can occur during assembly and helps tire manufacturers and suppliers conduct inventory checks quickly and efficiently.

Recently, Avery Dennison launched AD Dura 2.0, a reinforced reusable tag product that is resistant to water, heat, vibration and impact.

Designed for harsh environments, AD Dura 2.0 can be used in conjunction with Avery Dennison RFID UHF and HF/NFC inlay designs for dry and wet tag formats, including AD Circus NTAG213 and AD Dogbone M730. The new products support longer product lifecycles and reduced waste.

Key UHF applications include supply chain transparency and optimization, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, self-checkout and fast return processing. The UHF version is suitable for industrial, supply chain, logistics and automotive applications. Key HF/NFC applications include product authentication, customer engagement and experience, brand loyalty and protection. HF/NFC is designed for use in retail, apparel, beauty and healthcare. AD Dura 2.0 labels comply with ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, ensuring a reliable product that meets a variety of application needs.

"Extending product lifecycles and reducing waste are key challenges our customers face over time," said Mathieu De Backer, vice president of innovation and sustainability at Avery Dennison Smartrac. "AD Dura 2.0 supports these goals by ensuring our high-performance inlays can withstand the harshest environments, thereby contributing to supply chain transparency, product authentication, customer engagement and more."
