Industry trend|With RMB 4.28 million invested in RFID smart cabinets, how will Anhui Province’s prison equipment management usher in a revolutionary improvement?

2024-12-03

The security and confidentiality requirements of prison police equipment have always been extremely high, requiring strict management and protection measures. For example, weapons must be stored in a safe place to prevent theft or abuse; communication equipment needs to be encrypted to prevent information leakage; protective equipment needs to protect the personal information and privacy of prison guards. These requirements make the management process more complicated and strict.

Although prisons have formulated a series of rules and regulations for the management of police equipment, they are often not fully implemented in actual operations. For example, some units have the phenomenon of focusing on procurement and neglecting management, resulting in the inability to effectively implement accountability and punishment measures after equipment is damaged or lost. In addition, some equipment management systems are too vague and lack specific and operational work guidance, which also makes the management effect unsatisfactory.

Therefore, in early November, Anhui Province issued a tender notice for the procurement of prison police equipment in the province, intending to purchase RFID handheld devices, RFID intelligent equipment cabinets and equipment cabinets for each prison area to achieve equipment classification management, information sharing and collaborative application, truly achieve equipment system management, and promote equipment digitalization and intelligent management. The project budget is 4.58 million. Recently, the project issued a winning bid announcement, and Anhui Dakuai Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid with a winning amount of 4,283,400 yuan.

Difficulties in the management of prison police equipment

The management of prison police equipment faces a series of difficulties, which mainly stem from the wide variety of equipment, the particularity of management requirements and the complexity of actual operations. The following is a detailed analysis of these difficulties:

1. There are many types of equipment and complex management

Prison police equipment includes weapons, protective equipment, communication equipment, single police equipment and other types, and each type of equipment has its specific use and management requirements. For example, weapons need to be regularly inspected, maintained and stored to ensure their performance and safety; protective equipment needs to be regularly replaced and overhauled to ensure the safety of prison guards; communication equipment needs to ensure communication quality and information security. This diversity makes the management process complicated, and different management measures need to be formulated for different equipment.

2. Insufficient resource investment and difficult management

The management of police equipment requires a lot of human, material and financial resources. However, due to funding and resource constraints, prisons often find it difficult to ensure that every prison guard can get enough equipment and training. This will lead to wear and failure of equipment, affecting the efficiency and safety of prison guards. At the same time, the lack of resources also makes management more difficult, making it difficult to achieve full monitoring and effective management of equipment.

3. Fast equipment replacement and high maintenance cost

With the advancement of science and technology, the replacement speed of police equipment is relatively fast, and regular maintenance, updating and upgrading are required. This requires prisons to invest a lot of manpower, material and financial resources to maintain the advancement and reliability of equipment. However, due to the high maintenance cost, some prisons may find it difficult to afford it, resulting in aging and failure of equipment, and even endangering the life safety of prison guards.

4. Low level of information management

With the development of information technology, the information management of police equipment has become a trend. However, some prisons still have deficiencies in information management, such as the difficulty in real-time synchronization between ledger records and the actual status of equipment, non-registration or omission of daily use, wrong recording, and untimely entry. This leads to low management efficiency and difficulty in achieving full monitoring and effective management of equipment.

How RFID solves these difficulties

RFID technology provides an effective means to solve the difficulties in prison police equipment management by simplifying management processes, optimizing resource allocation, improving security and confidentiality, improving grassroots management awareness and equipment utilization, and improving management systems and processes. Specifically, the difficulties in prison police equipment management can be solved in the following aspects:

1. Simplify equipment management processes and improve management efficiency

Unique identification and tracking of equipment: RFID technology can assign a unique RFID tag to each piece of police equipment, thereby realizing the unique identification of the equipment. Through the RFID reader, the location and status of the equipment can be tracked in real time, simplifying the management process and improving management efficiency.

Automated in-and-out management: When the equipment enters and leaves the warehouse, the RFID reader will automatically record the in-and-out status of the equipment and synchronize it with the central system. This can reduce errors and omissions in manual records and improve the accuracy and efficiency of in-and-out warehouse management.

Rapid inventory and statistics: RFID handheld devices can quickly scan RFID tags bound to police equipment to achieve rapid inventory of in-stock equipment. This can greatly shorten the working time of inventory, improve inventory efficiency, and reduce human errors.

2. Optimize resource allocation and reduce maintenance costs

Real-time monitoring of equipment status: RFID technology can record the number of times equipment is used, maintenance records and other information in real time, and monitor the status of equipment in real time. This helps to detect equipment problems in a timely manner and repair or replace them, avoiding damage to equipment due to excessive use or insufficient maintenance.

Resource optimization configuration: Through RFID technology, prisons can more accurately understand the use and needs of equipment. This helps prisons optimize resource allocation according to actual conditions and avoid resource waste and shortages.

3. Improve grassroots management awareness and equipment utilization rate

Intelligent management: RFID technology can be used in combination with equipment such as intelligent equipment cabinets to achieve intelligent management of equipment. This helps grassroots prison guards to obtain and use equipment more conveniently and improve the utilization rate of equipment.

Improve management awareness: Through the real-time monitoring and data analysis functions of RFID technology, prisons can more intuitively understand the use and problems of equipment. This helps grassroots leaders and prison guards pay more attention to equipment management and improve management awareness.

4. Improve management systems and processes

Data synchronization and update: RFID technology can achieve real-time synchronization and update of equipment data. This helps prisons to keep abreast of the latest status and needs of equipment and improve management systems and processes.

Responsibility traceability: Through RFID technology, prisons can trace the use and circulation of each piece of equipment. This helps to hold people accountable in a timely manner when problems arise and ensure the implementation and execution of management systems.
