In today's era of rapid technological advancements, vehicle AI voice assistants are gradually gaining more and more recognition and acceptance from drivers. An independent survey commissioned by SoundHound has revealed many interesting phenomena.

The survey results show that as many as 76% of drivers expressed a strong interest in using AI voice assistants during driving. Compared with the same period last year, drivers' interest in advanced voice assistant functions has increased by a significant 52%. Especially among the younger generation, this enthusiasm is even higher. Among drivers aged 21 - 34, 84% are interested, and among those aged 35 - 44, 82% also show a positive attitude.

Although currently 76% of the surveyed drivers can use the in-vehicle voice assistant, and 86% of them use it weekly, it cannot be ignored that the functions of traditional in-vehicle voice assistants are often limited to basic operations such as basic control, navigation, and phone calls. However, the research clearly indicates that drivers are already ready to embrace more complex and advanced AI functions.

It is worth noting that among the respondents who plan to buy or lease a car within the next year, as high as 81% clearly stated that they would prioritize vehicles equipped with AI functions. Moreover, 74% of the respondents are willing to pay fees or accept advertisements in exchange for the right to use these advanced functions.

Specifically, 71% of the respondents are interested in the AI - driven food ordering function. With this function, drivers can easily place orders while driving and pick up the food directly after arriving at the destination, greatly enhancing the convenience and efficiency of travel.

Even more impressive is that 85% of the respondents are looking forward to the vehicle management function. This function can help drivers better understand the alarm information on the dashboard, reasonably arrange vehicle maintenance matters, and obtain relevant information in the vehicle manual through natural and smooth conversations, thus making the interaction between the driver and the vehicle more intelligent, convenient, and efficient.

The research also found that nearly 40% of American drivers believe that the current functions of cars are too complicated. When using common applications such as GPS navigation, half of the drivers have encountered difficulties to varying degrees. In order to effectively deal with these challenges, 76% of the respondents are very interested in enhanced communication functions, which include AI - driven call handling and text message summaries, aiming to simplify the communication operations of drivers during driving and ensure driving safety.
